This is Derrick... being silly, as usual.....Last week was Camp Conquest which is held at Lake Martin for our burn survivors who have been treated at Children's. It is so awesome to get to see them all healed and being able to just have fun being kids. Actually, I think camp may be just as much fun for us so-called adults. Yall know that I am not super-outdoorsy, but this place is awesome b/c we stay in these wonderful air conditioned lodges with indoor plumbing and lovely showers!! The smores were yummy.... yes, an open fire at burn camp... we had to keep the firefighters in tow.... sandcastle building and lots of swimming!! Going to camp was a nice little break form the reality of having my car stolen.
