Gotcha Day!

Today is my gotcha day! One year ago today, Mama and her friend, Casie, came and "got" me! Mama and I were in Marietta, GA, and we stopped by the Dog City Bakery for some goodies. This is my "cake"!
I got to wear a pink tiara, and mama sang "happy gotcha day" to me. It sounds a lot like happy birthday.... hmmmmmm. I had to have some help blowing out my candle.

Then I got to dig in to my yummy treats!
I love my mama so much, and she loves me, too! We definitely "got" each other!
Here's the backstory for those of you who would like to know how I came to live with mama. Mama has another airedale named Sadie. In October 2007, Sadie was staying at grandmama's house because mama was out of town. Sadie was outside playing and Judd and Goose snuck out without grandmama knowing, so all three of them ran off galivanting. Judd and Goose came home, but Sadie did not. They did everything they could think of to find Sadie, but she has never come home. Mama still hopes and prays she will come home. Mama was beyond heartbroken. In January 2008, she got an e-mail saying that a girl 'dale had been found in Huntsville. She knew it was a long shot, but she still drove to Huntsville to see if it was her Sadie. This is when she was first introduced to Airedale Rescue Group. Well, she came in, and I ran and jumped on her and put my paws around her neck, and she said "Are you my Sadie??". I licked her face, but then she saw my very, very short tail, and said "no, you're not." She began crying and then left. She just wasn't ready for a another dog. In the meantime, I was placed with a family. They had other dogs and a toddler. Things were not going wonderfully, and they decided they couldn't keep me anymore. In April 2008, Christina with ARG called mama just to see if she could foster me. Mama said she would be happy to and drove to Huntsville to get me. When she got there, it was like I said, "Finally, you came back. What took you so long?". I instantly went with her and jumped in her car. She knew then that we were meant to be together. I have helped her heart to heal. And she has shown me so much love. More than anything, it's a day to celebrate! We rescued each other! Here I am on my first day at mama's. Look how long my fur was!! yikes!!!! That is definitely a Glamour "don't'!
All "bowed" up! It is just something I have accepted..... she's gonna put bows in my fur!!!
This is me on my birthday! Mama made me homemade dog biscuits and sugar cookies that looked like me!!
I think we are all familiar with my mischevious side! Live and learn!

This is mama and me last May.
Thank you for sharing in my Gotcha Day! (Mama says thank for reading our long story!) Mama says it feels like I have always been in her life, and I am certainly a mama's girl!!!
We love you all!!!
